He was born on June 24, 1962, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to a middle-class Jain family. Shantilal Adani was his father, and Shanti Adani was his mother. Mansukhbhai Adani is the eldest of his seven siblings. The family left the town of Tharad in northern Gujarat in search of work. His father ran a small textile business.
